"particularly from the young adults b is created for"

Can y'all please come up with a better demographic appellative than "young adults?" I know this is a big marketing exercise, but really..this makes me think of Judy Blume books. Ooo! New topic! Stuff from the 1980s! I know someone at the b is working on that already..

To Sk: That's a great idea, and we're working on it. I'd like us to get that done this week.

To tom dilliard: No such luck.

There really needs to be a section here with information about the editorial staff and their backgrounds. Fun or as serious as you want to write it. It feels necessary to me. Even better would be staff profiles linked to every post.

For the comments that Michael and Marissa haven't already responded to ...

To TheRewind.Net: Thank you.

To Hmmm... : I'm unclear as to how a statement can be "a self-righteous indignation." (I hope you don't write for a living!) But for some reason you're more civil with me than you were with Matt, so I guess I should be grateful.

As I wrote, we do evolve in response to reader feedback -- particularly from the young adults b is created for. And we are making the cover packages richer, with more elements. Even so, our readers are time-pressed, and we have a different voice from publications in which a reporter can spend 12 inches clearing his throat before ever getting to the real lede.

To tom dilliard: I am sorry about my name. Very, very sorry. Terribly sorry. Oh, and you misspelled it. It's Anne.

To MichaelP: All I can say is "Hmmm..."

I am totally enjoying b but I must say I find it interesting how b's critics are so specific in their attacks. Its almost as if some of these critics have a specific grudge of some kind. What has b or their staff done to deserve such attacks? These specific staff attacks just don't read as a normal comment and most of the time they have nothing to do with the article at all. Just a thought I had while reading the blog today.

(almost) all b staffers have pictures as their avatars. that's a sure way to tell reader comments and staff comments apart.

“At any rate, all of these reader comments — whether expressing wry amusement or self-righteous indignation, enthusiastic curiosity or thin-skinned resentment — are more than welcome as part of our effort to engage young adults in conversation.”

what is the percentage of true reader comments vs. "b" staff comments? How about in the uploaded photo section? the forum?
