KC: Just what the doctor ordered

A three-hitter from Daniel Cabrera. A three-run home run from Nick Markakis. And three more games against the Royals before the Orioles head back to Baltimore. The Orioles snapped a five-game losing streak last night by beating the Kansas City Royals, 4-1. Cabrera pitched another great game, getting his first complete-game victory since 2006. Who is this guy?

After a dismal 1-5 start to this 10-game road trip, the Orioles have a chance to salvage the trip – and perhaps stick around in the AL East hunt a little longer – if they take three out of four from the Royals.

Steve Trachsel will be on the mound tonight and all eyes will be on him. He’s struggled this season and there’s been talk about shifting him out of the rotation (none from manager Dave Trembley), but a solid outing tonight will be along way to silencing some of his critics, including me. The game starts at 8:10 p.m.
