Last year’s Dunkin’ Donuts Free Iced Coffee Day was — shock — a success.

So they’re doing it again. This year’s giveaway is from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. at participating stores Thursday (Which are many. Seriously, i got a list and it’s stores all over Baltimore, Towson, Owings Mills and elsewhere). Thirsty— and perhaps tired — patrons will get a free 16-ounce (small) iced coffee.

The whole day is celebrating Dunkin’ donating $5,000 to the Baltimore County Police Athletic League.

To tide you over until Thursday, here’s some iced coffee facts. This is your mindless trivia for the day:

• Dunkin’ Donuts will serve approximately 610,000 cups of coffee nationwide on Free Iced Coffee Day.

• Dunkin’ Donuts will use more than 13,400,000 ice cubes for Free Iced Coffee Day.

• Dunkin’ Donuts will brew more than 76,250 gallons of iced coffee on Free Iced Coffee Day.

• Dunkin’ Donuts will pour approximately 4,765 gallons of cream on Free Iced Coffee Day.

Did You Know:

• If you lined up each cup of iced coffee served on Free Iced Coffee Day lid-to-lid, the line would stretch for more than 36 miles.

• If you stack up each cup of iced coffee served on Free Iced Coffee Day, it would reach more than 45 miles into the sky.

• If you stack up each cup of iced coffee served on Free Iced Coffee Day, it would be the equivalent of 175 Sears Towers.

• The quantity of iced coffee served on Free Iced Coffee Day would fill over 2,300 bath tubs.

• You could fill 136 Olympic-size swimming pools with the amount of ice that will be used on Free Iced Coffee Day.

• The quantity of beans used on Free Iced Coffee Day are the equivalent weight of approximately six automobiles

  1. Ummm...actually it's Thursday according to the website. But thanks for the update - I almost forgot about it.

    !

  2. Dunkin Donuts has focused so much on their coffee in trying to kick Starbuck's ass. As a result, they've ignored their donuts which have become LOUSY. And the tip cup? Never saw that until very recent years. No thanks, I'll make my own coffee.

  3. i love their iced coffee. i haven't been to a starbucks in god knows how long. it really all depends on where you get your donuts, donna.
i'm loyal to the DD in Fallston on the corner of Mountain Road and Route 1. There's this little Indian woman who calls me honey and puts extra donuts in my bag. and each one is DELICIOUS

  4. I stand corrected, YCKTR. It is Thursday. Guess I got a little excited.

  5. Iced Coffee does the same thing to me Jordan.

    Except when it doesn't.

  6. Good looking out. I pick up my freebie tomorow morn. And yea, DD has swarmed the region in the past few years. Fueling the caffiene drug wars.
