The response to War on Baltimore expands to War on LA
This whole G4 “Attack of the Show” declaring war on Baltimore is starting to keep me up nights and impinge on my fragile state of mind. Who are these people, this Olivia Munn and Kevin Pereira? What did we ever do to them? I think that a measly, cheesy Orioles video (even coupled with Billy Ripken’s ‘89 Fleer card) does not a just war make. Then again, it’s hard to reason with people whose battle cry is, “Suck it, Baltimore.”
Initially, I had suggested declaring war on G4. And others have picked up that battle cry. But I fear that’s not enough. I think it’s time to take Los Angeles to task for bringing Western Civilization a little closer to the end every day. I submit to you an incomplete listing of our cause for retaliation:
- Omnipresent boob jobs and Botox. It’s the equivalent of getting a tooth cleaning here.
- Misbegotten film ideas: Gigli, Glitter, The English Patient (I’m with Elaine Benes on this one).
- Celebrity sprung from sex tapes: Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton.
- A constant stream of pathetic news about Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.
Obviously, there’s much more to be added to the list. And I charge you with helping to do so. Please, take up the cause.

Ahhhh now we're getting somewhere. AOTS in and of itself does not warrant any kind of attention - after all, it's what they want, being the oh so-fu**in-edgy and hip entertainment and 'news' program for 14 year olds obsessed with Olivia Munn's cleverly manipulated B cups, they would revel in the attention garnered to them and their zany antics, declaring war on a city for a short, hastily thrown together list of "egregious offenses."
LA, on the other hand, provides almost countless bullet points (see what I did there) as to why a war against them would be justified. While you're at it, throw AOTS on that list.

Anne,
One of the local radion stations discussed G4's attack on Baltimore on their morning show. They were having listners post negative comments to G4's blog online. Apparently, there was too much profanity so G4 took down the thread to clean it up, (for their young audience members) but I see it's back online again.

There's no such thing as bad press.
They're giving us millions of dollars worth of advertising and PR for free.

I for one enjoy some of the shows on G4, and appreciate the aforementioned Olivia B cups and sexy Brit, Layla Kayleigh. I was quite sad when Comcast cut G4 and its awesome Japanese game shows out of my basic cable.
In regards to their War on Baltimore, I find it comical. I mean lets be honest, that O's video was awful. I find it easier to laugh at our city's flaws then get upset about someone pointing them out. I still have pride in my city and love my neighborhood, but im not about to get my panties in a bunch over something like this.
Oh yeah...
LA - Setting of an extremely painful to watch reality TV show in which a bunch of catty b*tches say "like" in like every sentence.
(See 'The Hills')

I never heard of AOTS until you started posting about it, Anne. Do people (over the age of 14) actually watch it?
Whenever I turn my television on, it's usually to watch something I DVR'ed. I never make it that far in the guide to get to G4. At least they rerun Arrested Development, though.

Attack of the Show is an awesome show. Anyone who has ever heard of the internet would definitely benefit from it, as it's all about what's big on the web.
P.S. Olivia is by far the most beautiful woman EVER!

I love G4 and have been watching it for years...I am much older than their average 14 year olds that you supposedly say is their core audience...Most of the time their humour is right on if not spot on so what if baltimore got in the radar....there are worse things that they could say about the city and point out nationally

I'm still really bitter about the loss of TechTV because of G4. There, I admitted it.

TechTv had some good shows, but their programming has gotten better since those days.

Attack of the Show is horrible, when I was younger I would watch G4, that is until the sold out. They replaced all the "nerdy" hosts with dumb broads who don't know a lick of what they are talking about.

I've been unplugged for the past day and change ... hanging out in backwoods Va.
Lori, I don't know much about the demographics of AOTS. G4 definitely skews male and, I would imagine, fairly young. I didn't know of AOTS' existence until Tim Windsor pointed out War on Baltimore.
bMills: The Hills is an excellent example of why LA has got to go. Last season, I got addicted when I was home sick for a day and didn't have the will to do anything else. (At least, that's my excuse.) It's witless, and the central character is practically lethargic. The aspects that make the show interesting -- JustinBobby being self-involved, Heidi and Spencer scheming -- have the same appeal as a soap opera: voyeuristically watching other people's bad behavior.

I find it interesting how many of those who commented to this article are female, and respond with the knowledge of not knowing G4 and Attack of the Show. I am female as well, watch the show and continuously have my television set on the channel.
Their core audience isn't fourteen, in fact its set for the more mature audience. between 19-25. Older people do watch it, but its basically in line with college years.
The "War on Baltimore" segments were hilarious. Poking fun at the videos that came out of the area and what not. Especially the O one and that Unicorn one?
All I really got to say, is lay off, its a joke.

I think G4 doesn't realize the positives of Baltimore. G4 is a network aimed towards geeks (especially young men between 18-25). Only in Baltimore can you have one of the largest Anime Conventions in the country, Otakon with a flavor that is very untrade show like. Baltimore has great Comic Book, Science Fiction (media and literary) and traditional Gaming conventions. I would rather have people say the positives of Baltimore. It is probably one of the best geek towns in the country.
