Best place in B-more for crabs

So, we cracked open the crab controversies of Baltimore in a previous post — which led us to some heated opinions. And you guys thought I was joking when I said eating crabs is a sensitive subject to talk about. Hey, it’s serious business.

Now I’m craving crabs and Jeffers Road Jim’s question about the best Baltimore places get crabs didn’t help my hankering any. And it’s got me thinking - mainly about why I’ve never been Conrad’s Crabs before, but also about what is the best place to order crabs.

I think my vote still goes to Bill’s Terrace, but I could be swayed. Got a favorite? Let me know and I’ll check them out.

  1. Koco's Pub has the best crabcake.

  2. My top 3 crab carry-outs:

    1. Salty Dog
    2. Captain Trey's
    3. Ocean Pride/Conrad's

  3. you said "hankering" =)

Carry-out, and a little easier on the pockets, Camerons in NW Baltimore City.
To dine in, if you want quality and don't mind spending some $$$, by far Canton Dockside. It's like dying and floating away to spicy, meaty, "Jurassic Park" sized crabby heaven.

  5. Carryout - I've never had a bad crab from The Seafood Stop on Belair Rd. in Fallston. Great prices for the size as well.

Dine-in - I rarely dine-in for crabs but I did go to Fallston Seafood on Saturday and the crabs were good.

  6. My kitchen! My dad buys live crabs and cooks them at home every weekend. So delicious!

  7. justyesterday I went to the Merritt athletic club in Canton... pretty much next door to Canton Dockside... and, my lord, the smell of crabs was so incredibly awesome... I'm still craving crabs RIGHT NOW just because of that smell!!!
