au contraire, i hear reports of those growing up in baltimore that were able to on rare occasion get reception of d.c. television stations. of course it probably depended on atmospheric conditions.

Jhoon Rhee? Do you have any nostalgic Philadelphia commercials to post about here?

Things never available in Baltimore:

1) D.C. Television

KIM'S KARATE
NOBODY HAAAASS WHAT TATE HAAASSSSS
GO GEBCO

and that classic Katz insurance commercial where the guy comes into his kitchen and picks up the piece of mail and exclaims "I'VE BEEN CANCELED!"

Excellent work Johnny dollar. You could literally make an entire website dedicated to Captain Chesapeake and to a lesser extent, Commander Stu Kerr.

On the continuing topic of Carvel, please don't leave out Cookie Puss and Cookie O' Puss. They deserve mad love.

YCKTR I think I remember reading in Waters' book that Mr. Ray refused because JW was basically a disheveled stoner at the time and he thought they would make fun of him somehow (or something). Then again, if I knew my voiceover were being used to narrate a dogshit eating scene I probably would have refused as well.

Alright I'm starting to overload on nostalgia. Gotta take a break

So scary - I looked up both of these after the Mr.Ray's post as well. I don't know how I'm going to live down knowing that my brain wandered in the same direction as Anne Tallent.

The Mr.Ray's radio commercials were more classic IMHO simply because they had to rely soley on that voice...so baltimore. John Waters tried to get the Mr.Ray's voice-over guy (Mr. Ray?) to be the narrator for Pink Flamingos...but he refused. I bet he's kicking himself now.
