Now that we’re getting into the heart of the Major League Baseball season — believe it or not, but the All-Star Game is already creeping up on us — it’s time to take a look at where all 30 teams stand. The Rays and Cardinals have been a pleasant surprise. New York’s two teams have struggled mightily (not that anyone is complaining). And the Cubs and Red Sox look like the cream of the crop with 100 games or so left to play. As for the O’s, you’re going to have to read on to see where they stand.

1. Chicago Cubs (38-21): They’ve got the offense and pitching to make it to the World Series, but c’mon, they’re the Cubs.
2. Boston Red Sox (36-25): The Red Sox might have been struggling before they came to Baltimore, but they’re the best team in the American League.
3. Tampa Bay Rays (35-23): The Rays are nearly unbeatable at home. Can it last? Probably not.
4. Los Angeles Angels (36-24): The Angels are easily the best road team in baseball.
5. Philadelphia Phillies (35-25): Bad news for the National League East – Chase Utley and Ryan Howard are heating up.
6. Arizona Diamondbacks (32-27): This team’s even better than the one that just missed out on the World Series last season.
7. Minnesota Twins (30-28): Johan who? Torii who?
8. St. Louis Cardinals (35-25): So much for Albert Pujols having an off year.
9. Chicago White Sox (31-26): Ozzie Guillen’s last stand in Chi-town.
10. Oakland Athletics (32-27): Frank Thomas has given this team a big lift.
11. Florida Marlins (31-26): Now this is how you rebuild a baseball team.
12. Milwaukee Brewers (31-28): The Brew Crew is hot right now. Can they catch the Cubs?
13. Toronto Blue Jays (32-28): Roy Halladay is quietly having another strong season north of the border.
14. Atlanta Braves (31-28): Losing John Smoltz really hurts this team.
15. New York Yankees (28-30): They’re the Yankees. They’ll be back.
16. Cleveland Indians (26-32): It’s only a matter of time until this team gets on a roll.
17. Detroit Tigers (24-34): Ditto.
18. Houston Astros (31-28): Somebody test Lance Berkman for HGH.
19. New York Mets (29-28): This talented team needs a shake-up now before it’s too late.
20. Los Angeles Dodgers (28-30): The kids are all right in LA. What about the veterans?
21. Baltimore Orioles (28-29): Sorry O’s fans, but the Birds are on the decline.
22. Cincinnati Reds (28-31): Jay Bruce is doing his best Roy Hobbs impersonation.
23. Texas Rangers (30-30): The Josh Hamilton trade was a coup.
24. Pittsburgh Pirates (27-31): In Pittsburgh, reaching .500 in June is a HUGE accomplishment.
25. San Francisco Giants (25-34): I’d pay Barry Zito $5 million for a win, too.
26. Kansas City Royals (23-35): Alex Gordon is one of few bright spots for the Royals.
27. Washington Nationals (24-35): Injuries are starting to take their toll on the Nats.
28. Colorado Rockies (21-38): So much for all that Rockies’ hype.
29. San Diego Padres (23-37): We have a Brian Giles sighting.
30. Seattle Mariners (21-38): Think Erik Bedard misses the Charm City right now?
