Fanboy Feasting No. 2
For those of you thirsting for an MMORPG (massively mutliplayer online role-playing game) that’s distinctly different from the traditionally fantastical worlds of Everquest, Age of Conan and the World of Warcraft, I definitely recommend trying out Requiem: Bloodymare.
The game just went open beta a few weeks ago and I’ve been very impressed. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely don’t plan on canceling my WoW subscription anytime soon, but Requiem has proven a worthwhile distraction.
Now keep in mind, Requiem is still in it’s beta stage so, some textures are still a little funky, sometimes you do bug out and get frozen in the air and there are still a lot of silly typos from the Korean-to-English translation. But, regardless of these current flaws, this game, even in it’s beta form, still delivers.
The dark (and bloody) story line is a refreshing change of pace. The gloomy (and yet highly stylized) scenery and overall environment bring a sense of mystery and twisted imagination to a genre of game too often riddled with cartoonish looking characters and flashy colors.
I almost forgot to mention one of the best parts. Requiem has a Mature rating! That’s right ladies and gentlemen — that means just the right amount of blood and gore to be amusing and all the f—ing cussing you want (without getting reported ^_^)!
Despite all my praise there are a few areas that could use significant improvement. The in-game chat system absolutely blows and there’s something particularly counterintuitive menu navigation. Fix these issues and you’ve got one hell of game.
Keep up the good work Gravity!

If I did not give up on video games years ago (outside of Sega bass Fishing on the Nintendo Wii)I would give it a shot. There is something about a prepubescent voice piercing my eardrum through a headset, informing me that I have just been "pwn3d" that makes me long for the sweet release that only death can bring.
