What’s the fewest number of things could you live with?

Chucking your stuff isn’t a new concept. Plenty of people have purged in a major way to start a new life or embrace a new sense of freedom. But in an economy on a ticket south, it’s interesting to think about. It sounds good in theory, but just how low on the scale of owning stuff could you go?

I’m talkin’ personal stuff that is just yours and no one else uses.  There are challenges out there to slim to 100 things. I might be able to do that if I put myself in the right environment.

First things off my list:

1. Iron

2. Vaccuum

3. Bowling ball

4. Office desk

5. Serendipity DVD that I watched practically everyday for six months when I didn’t have TV

Things I’d have a hard time letting go:

 1. Car

2. Snowboard

3. Computer

4. Razor

5. Sneakers

Things I’d cling to for dear life:

1.Toothbrush

2.Sunblock

3.Blanket

4. Cell phone

5. Camera

What’s first and last off your list? And just how low do you think you could go?

  2. Since I started driving - I've had very few periods where I was without a car. I can say with some confidence that I'd pay $8/gallon before parking it permanently.

  3. I would only give things up if everyone else did too. I'm a bit greedy like that. But I'd give up:

    telephone
    tv
    car
...really, with those 3 gone my bills would also be gone. The fat just got trimme dright there.

  4. "Gone Baby Gone" list

I think this is an interesting concept, and challenge you all to take it a step further. If its something you could definitely do without, remove it from your life. Donate, trash or cancel those items that are just taking up space. I double dog dare ya

  9. i could live without parking authorities in any city. i wish they would use that tax money for catching bad guys or something. they aren't even police officers and they still sign their name "officer." they are so dumb, they give out tickets parked legal. but for me, it's lose or lose situation. sucks to be me, i know.

  10. Thanks dmartinb... now I got "Gone Baby Gone" stuck in my head.

  11. LOL, I do what I can, however I can, for whomever I can... But at least it wasn't a WHAM tune.

    2. VCR
    3. digital cable
    4. all my purses/bags except two (i need SOME options)

this is going to suck but i'll live:
    1. all cable in general
    2. mp3 player
    3. cell phone
    4. camera
    5. french press

    NEVER EVER EVER:
    1. chapstick
    2. computer
    3. shoes
    4. books
    5. cds
