Should celebrity divorces be kept private or is it fair game for the public to see?

  1. I think they should be private but as long as people keep buying "People" and reading blogs celebrities will be just that.

  2. Divorce of any kind is public record. In terms of celebrity divorce, they should read the fine print before they decide to persue a public career. I personally don't care who is doing what on their own time - but plenty of other people do. It comes with the territory. Deal.

    !

  3. when peoples divorce thas bad because that is mean to eachother

  4. While regular, non-celebrity divorces are published in the paper, why should celebrities get special treatment just because they decided to go with a high-profile job?

  5. the difference is non-celeb. divorces don't get details splashed all over the internet, tv, magazines and newspapers.
there are better ways to deal with it than drag it out in public, especially if there is children involved. for instance, bill murray had his divorce finalized and over with before the media caught wind of it.
but paul mccartney and christie brinkley get their personal life shown to millions of people.
however, i do agree that it comes with notoriety. it's just a little sad to see.

  6. If you are a celeb and you are in the public eye then it is what it is because of their status. Remember there are many celebrities that do stay out of the lime light and choose to have as private a life as they can.

  7. The only reason they are considered celebreties is because the masses consider them so. As a result of that, their lives are followed and examined by people. Divorces are public records, so they arn't exempt just because people see them on TV

  8. Private. They're people, too. If I were to get a divorce (or get married) it wouldn't be publicized.

I guess I don't get the big deal with celebrities.
