What I did this weekend

On Friday, for the fourth time in my life, I took a bus up to New York City for a day trip. For several reasons, one being genuine New York pizza, it was the best trip out of the four.
I haven’t uploaded all of my photos, Lego Chewbacca will have to wait for another day, but here are the favorites:

Times Square
Times Square still impresses me. The size of everything, the flashing lights and video screens, it’s a world by itself.

St. Patrick's Cathedral
I’ve always wanted to go here. I’ve seen Notre Dame, Chartres and various churches throughout western Europe (I have a penchant for church, specifically gothic, architecture) and this ranks near the top of my favorites. I love how the city and its modern buildings grew up around this piece of history.

Central Park
My first time being here. I love the contrast of this (almost) untouched park smack in the middle of a bustling city. Probably the quietest place in New York.
What did you guys do?

Hey I was in NYC this weekend too - Ghey Pride Pt. 2. I stayed at the Hotel Chelsea - and didn't dare wander so far north. After 33rd street it's just too crowded and crazy for me. However I still enjoy the park as well. You're right, it's the quietest place in the noisiest city.
Hotel Chelsea - so much history. I took a picture of the room Sid and Nancy shared...plus a bunch of other famous rooms. That place has it's own unique energy. Went to all the crazy gay stuff...the parade, as always was enormous and spectacular. Had a Sheila Dixon shopping spree and ate dinner at a place called Ninja...a theme restaurant...you can guess the theme. It was great...and the food was remarkably good for a theme place.
Glad you had fun...NYC always tires me out...so much to do and not nearly enough time.

I guess going to NY this weekend was the in thing to do. Although the parade was interesting, it did mess up our 5th Ave shopping. The rain didn't help, either. Which bus did you take? I'll take either Hunt Valley Motor Tours or Apex Bus (Chinatown). Suggestions for next time, anyone?

I was closer to home, with the unfettered joy of a lovely morning at the park with my wee lass, watching the geese and counting dogs (one of her favorite park activities). Plus I had the luxury of getting to watch the entire Euro 2008 Final alone and uninterrupted. Ahhh, bliss. I'll get my day trip to NYC someday, maybe when she is older.
Marissa - the mystery that is you gets more intriguing. You fancy Gothic church architecture? Most interesting. When it comes to church architecture I have always been more partial to Romanesque or Modern. That said, I do really enjoy the Gothic interiors with stained glass. On sunny days, standing in the light almost makes me believe in God. Which is, perhaps, the point.
Does this mean you are a goth chick? What other architecture grabs your attention?

I went to New York this past weekend too.
I went to visit this school and I was in Times Square. Messed up that model jumped from the building though.

You had bright red hair? I had a big blonde streak on the right side. Someday, I'll share the pics!
Speaking of, where is the Lego Chewie?
