No Baltimore Labor Day festivities

Call me a populist, but I think Labor Day is a pretty awesome holiday.

Granted, I’m working today. But, I like the fact that most of the country takes the day off work to celebrate the achievements of American workers.

So, I’m baffled as to why there are virtually no special celebrations planned for Labor Day in Baltimore.

Though not specifically tailored to the holiday, there are a couple of places you can go to enhance your day off.

  • Maryland State Fair –> ends today. $8 for adults, $3 for children over the age of 6. In the State Fair Park today, you can also check out “Masters of the Chainsaw.” They have some more competitions at 5:30 and 7:30 tonight.
  • Maryland Renaissance Festival –> magic and stage shows are going on today. Worth getting out in such beautiful weather.

What are your ideas?

  1. Maybe because organized labor has been crushed? Ask the average person why this holiday exists and they'll not know or mention pregnancy
