Since the Ravens aren’t taking the field on Sunday, a forgotten team takes the top spot on this weekend’s list. And you can bet some of the Ravens will be on their couches watching these games, and you should be, too.

3. Redskins @ Cowboys (Sunday @ 4:15 on FOX): The Ravens don’t play until Monday night (in case you hadn’t heard), so the Redskins’ game takes over at the local sports game du jour. But this game is on the list for more than just that. Everyone knows about the bad blood between these two NFC East rivals, but this is also the best game on the NFL’s Sunday slate, unless you count the 0-3 Browns taking on the 0-3 Bengals…

2. #8 Alabama @ #3 Georgia (Saturday @ 7:45 p.m. on ESPN): The Penn Stater inside of me wanted to put the Nittany Lions’ big game against the Illinois Fighting Illini on this list, and the Terps also have a big game against ACC rival Clemson, but I just can’t do it folks. Alabama-Georgia is the game to watch on Saturday, with these two undefeated SEC foes duking it out on ESPN. (On a personal note, I can’t stand Nick Saban, so go Bulldogs!) Thankfully, all those Terps fans out there can watch both games. I, on the other hand, will be giving the remote control a serious workout on Saturday night.

1. Orioles vs. Blue Jays (Friday through Sunday on MASN2): I know, I know, the Orioles have been dead to you since late July, but give them a break. This is the Orioles’ last series of the 2008 season, and it’s at Camden Yards to boot. Head on down to the ballpark to let the team know you’ll be faithfully rooting them on in the spring. Once football season is over and done with, of course.

  1. I know some Terps fans who are going to the Clemson game at noon, then heading to Athens to (hopefully) celebrate the win with some SEC-style tailgating and the Georgia-Bama game. Pretty much sounds like the greatest day ever.

  2. Well it looks as if the biggest game of the weekend is taking place before the weekend even starts. What is with USC always losing to at least one inferior Pac-10 foe a year? I mean, I know almost anything can happen in a conference game, but when your depth chart is stocked with 5-star guys at every position, there's excuse for games like this.

  3. Er, no excuse.

  4. Damnit Matt. Stay true to the Blue & White.
    WE ARE.... PENN STATE!

On a side note, that is one of the lamest chants around the NCAA, but its pretty damn cool when 110,000 people are yelling it.

  5. Wow ... I'm gonna go ahead and say UMD-Clemson or PSU-Illini would've been the better choice after all.
