AFC championship game Ravens vs. Steelers
It might not have been pretty, but the Ravens prolonged their Cinderella season with a 13-10 victory over the Titans on Saturday. Now they travel to Pittsburgh for their first AFC championship game appearance since 2001. We all know how that postseason run turned out. Can the Ravens do it again? 6:30 p.m. Sunday, CBS. {Matt Vensel, b}
‘Battlestar Galactica’
The end is near … sort of. The second half of the final season of the cult hit begins Friday night at 10 on Sci Fi. Be ready to get your “frak” on. {Tim Wong, b}
‘Notorious’
The biopic of the late Notorious B.I.G. has potential disaster written all over it (mainly because the lead actor isn’t really an actor at all, but an aspiring rapper named Gravy). But I’m willing to look past the questionable decisions because, hey, it’s Biggie and he’s one of the greatest to ever grab a mic. Opens Friday. {Wesley Case, b}
Obama’s iPod Dance Party
Despite any questions we have about the president-elect’s foreign policy experience, we have no doubts about his taste in music. Creative Alliance hosts an evening of faves from POTUS’ iPod, plus vintage funk selections. 8 p.m. Saturday. 3134 Eastern Ave. $5. creativealliance.org {Anne Tallent, b}
Adele at 9:30 Club
Even if her voice wasn’t incredible, I’d still love Adele just because I have a penchant for sassy British singers. Luckily, besides being adorable, this songstress knows how to belt out a tune. If you don’t have your tickets already, you’re probably out of luck since this show is sold out. 7:30 p.m. doors, Saturday. $25. {Marissa Richardson, b}
‘Friday Night Lights’
Even if the football drama hadn’t gotten all soapy, I still wouldn’t have shelled out for DIRECTV just to watch these third-season eps last fall. Now I can watch ’em on their home field (NBC). Network season premiere: 9 p.m. Friday. {Adam SapiRo, b}
‘Appaloosa’
Looking to watch a good Western gun-slinging movie this week? Then “Appaloosa,” starring actor-director Ed Harris, is it. Saddle up on your favorite horse and ride on over to your favorite DVD store on Tuesday. {b reader timlumber1}
‘60 Objects/Countless Stories’
We usually pass on audio tours, but the Baltimore Museum of Art’s latest seems worthy of a listen. The so-called “acoustiguide,” available starting Friday, is a 90-minute guide featuring conversational commentary and behind-the-scenes stories of some of the museum’s greatest works. Also featured: art-inspired stories and poems by local writers, including David Simon and Laura Lippman. Launch party, 7-10 p.m. Friday. {Jordan Bartel, b}
Poe Bicentennial Celebration
Poe Toaster, come on down! Celebrate Edgar Allan Poe’s 200th birthday with John Astin (Gomez Addams) reading from some of the master’s most spine-tingling works, theatrical performances and more. 7 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Westminster Hall, 519 W. Fayette St. $30-$35. poebicentennial.com {Anne Tallent, b}
‘Hotel for Dogs’
Dogs in need — who can resist that? In “Hotel for Dogs,” a group of kids create a hotel … for dogs. OK, so the plot is pretty obvious. Oh well, but Pedigree will make a donation from each ticket sold to help shelter dogs. Out Friday. {Aubrey Fornwalt, b}
