Jazzmen Tynes’ Inauguration Day experience

From Jazzmen Tynes:

Insane. Took me 3 hours to get from union station to the Wash. Monument.

Once we got to D street, we were stuck for about an hour. Someone

abandoned a charter bus in the middle of the street. Secret Service came

in to keep everything orderly (and figure out wtf was up with the

mysterious bus). We got to the Washington Monument at 9. By then the

entire Mall was gridlocked. We watched everything from the jumbotron.

There was LOTS of booing whenever Bush was onscreen. Cheney too. Also,

lots of old black ladies in full-lenght fur coats and matching hats. It

was kinda funny. Didn’t see too many kids.

We got off the train, walked through 395 then went to the Wash. Memorial.

It was too crowded to do anything else, so we walked back through the

tunnel. Hopefully we make it back before our train leaves at 6:30!

Another cool thing… lots of people are wearing name tags with their

city and state on them. A few strangers walked up to me and said,”Hi

Jazzmen from baltimore”
