3:16 p.m.: On a slightly frviolous note, I ran out on my delayed lunch break to get a manicure.

In the unlikely event that I get to shake our new President’s hand tonight at the ball, my mother would never forgive me if my nails weren’t done.

Back at the office, I’m waiting for Stephen to meet me here so that we can caravan down to a friend’s house in Chevy Chase. Traffic.com still says it should only take me 50 minutes if I take the beltway and 95 south, but I really don’t want to take any chances this close to rush hour.

We’re going to take 29 all the way down to East-West Highway instead.
