Other winter sports we love

1. Curling: We all love shuffleboard. Add ice and you get the coolest sport you’ve never tried. We don’t even care if we get stuck with the brooms. Sign us up.
2. Bobsledding: Its popularity has declined since “Cool Runnings,” but bobsledding is a great way to enjoy the winter if you have three friends, bobsled, access to a course and really, really good health insurance.
3. Ski jumping: We’re not going to lie — it’s fun to watch skiers crash and burn when they botch their landing after flying hundreds of feet through the air. Yeah, we’ve got problems.
4. Biathlon: A no-brainer. Cross-country skiing and shooting a rifle are awesome. Put them together and it’s a party.
5. Broomball: Perhaps the most accessible sport on this list, this hockey-based game is played down at Patterson Park. I’m simple (you hit a ball into a net with brooms) but fun as hell — until you take a spill and break your tailbone.
6. Drinking: Why go outside when you can stay warm by drinking beer and watching sports on TV?

I've always wanted to bobsled! After watching the true story Cool Runnings, i thought if John Candy could do it...so can Tim Lumber! If i would have grew up in Aspin,or Alaska, i believe i would probally have been an Olympic Bobsledding Gold Medalist! How hard could it be to drive a little sled? I think i could top out 100mph on them courses! I have cat like quick reflexes, and im a little crazy all equaling the makings of a gold medal bobsledding prospect! Who knows...maybe i will move to Alaska, maybe you will see me on the next Winter Olympic Games! I could be the Michael Phelps of the Winter Games! Matt V...after i bring home the gold....i will let you interview me for your column! Im crazy....anybody got a bobsled i can borrow? I will return it,after the olympics!
