Watching the parade, ready to hit the road

From blogger Tiffany:

4:01 p.m.: I’m finally leaving the office. It’s an hour later than we intended to leave, but I really think that traffic is going to be manageable on 29. My goal is to get there within an hour. Hopefully some parking will have opened up at the Bethesda metro station by the time we get there so we won’t have to walk from our friend’s house to the station and back tonight. The low in DC is supposed to be 16. That sounds frigid in a ballgown.

3:23 p.m.: I’m watching snippets of the parade while I’m waiting to get on the road. Apparently the marching band from Barack Obama’s high school is participating. To prepare in Hawaii for the frigid Washington temperatures, they rehearsed using instruments that were pre-chilled in freezers. Also, Michelle Obama’s dress is not a winner amongst the women in my office.
