I don't know if it's considered urban legend, but the one about the babysitter getting the phone calls only to find out they're coming from (dun dun daaaa) inside the house! (Ahhhhhh!)
Remember that crappy movie a few years ago that had that same story line? Way to kill it for me.

the llorona, a Mexican legend. Grew up hearing this and every kid in the desert southwest is scared of her.

In Tucson there's a dried out riverbed, the Santa Cruz River, and the tale was always told that the Llorona drowned her kids in that river.

the one about the college student who got their kidney cut out and wakes up in a bath tub of ice.
my dance teacher thought it would be funny to tell that to a bunch of 10-year-olds and play it off as real
didn't really appreciate that a few years later

On the west side of Baltimore there used to be stories of some weird dude that would hang out in the woods and wait for kids and then do weird stuff to them that I won't detail here. I think he was called "The Bunnyman."

bloody mary , you had to be in the bathroom in complete darkness and say her name 3 times and she would appear ,lets just say in my young days I would pee with the lights on
