Acrobat Mei Ling performs some aerial acrobatics at the Los Angeles stop for Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Show in the World {thanks, Dos Equis}

1. Dos Equis presents: The most interesting show in the world

The seductively accented, jai alai-playing, cigar-chomping “Most Interesting Man in the World” is not on this tour. But Fishbone’s Angelo Moore and a bevy of burlesque performers, “crossbow-wielding lovers,” contortionists and beatboxers will be, so we’ll settle for that. And it’s free! 8 p.m. Thursday. Recher Theatre, 512 York Road, Towson. mostinterestingshow.com Anne Tallent, b

2. Terps v. Hokies
It’s been rough for Maryland football coach Ralph Friedgen’s young squad in 2009, but a big-time upset over rival Virginia Tech would add a bit of luster to a disappointing season. 1 p.m. Saturday, Byrd Stadium, College Park. Matt Vensel, b

3. ‘Sesame Street: 40 Years of Sunny Days’ on DVD
The “Sesame Street” folks are releasing this two-disc DVD collection on Tuesday (40 years to the day that “Sesame Street” debuted). With over five hours of memorable moments and guest stars, there’s sure to be something to jog a fond childhood memory, because everybody needs a sunny day once in a while. Brian Krista, b

4. Maryland Irish Festival
You think you know what you’re getting: fiddles, dancers, corned beef, black & tan. But wait! This year introduces the Men in Kilts contest, with categories including “every man,” “police/fire,” “knobby knees” and “big fella.” Be still, my beating heart. Just kidding! Friday-Sunday, Maryland State Fairgrounds, 2200 York Road, Timonium. $10. irishfestival.com Anne Tallent, b

5. Brand New
I’ve watched Brand New transform from a clever-but-typical, four-chord emo band to a constantly inventive, brooding force of eardrum-rattlers. Expect an intense set Wednesday at Sonar, 407 E. Saratoga St. It’s sold out, but do what it takes to get in. Doors at 6 p.m. Wesley Case, b

6. Pies and tarts cooking class
Give me a skillet and a stovetop any day, but baking? Yeah, right. I’ll buy a cake before I bake one, so maybe a class wouldn’t be such a bad idea for yours truly. For $70 get useful baking tips and take home an apple pie and an almond blueberry pear tart, without burning down the kitchen. 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. For the Love of Food, 20 Clarks Lane, Reisterstown. Aubrey Fornwalt, b

7. ‘The Polar Express’ 4-D Experience
This kinda creepy film ain’t necessarily a holiday classic, but throw in another dimension (engine steam, the smell of hot chocolate, a clump of gum under your seat — wait, scratch that last one) and even Scrooge might enjoy the ride. Showings start 10 a.m. Saturday and run through Jan. 3 at the National Aquarium’s Immersion Theater. Tickets are an extra $4 to the aquarium’s admission price. aqua.org Adam Sapiro, b

8. Cranberries
I tend to have some crazy dreams, a recent one having songs and choreography a la “Glee,” but that’s besides the point. How can you not love the song “Dreams” by the Cranberries? It’s a classic. Maybe they’ll perform it at Ram’s Head Live!, 120 Market Place, Thursday at 8. $40. Aubrey Fornwalt, b

9. ‘Dawson’s Creek: The Complete Series’ on DVD
Remember when Katie Holmes wasn’t married to that weird Scientology guy? Or when Joshua Jackson wasn’t on “Fringe”? Or even when James van der Beek had a career? No? Here’s your chance. Out Tuesday. Wesley Case, b

10. ‘Eating Out: All You Can Eat’ on DVD
While many would classify the “Eating Out” series as mindlessly crappy, overly stereotyped gay movies, one needs to understand that those very qualities make them great. Aside from my group of friends’ ritualistic drunken Friday night viewings of “Mean Girls” and “The Devil Wears Prada,” this third installment of the series is likely to land a spot in post-partying DVD rotation. Get ready for a mouthful (of laughs, you sickos!) Tuesday. Tim Wong, b
