More than 1,500 people complained to ABC about Adam Lambert’s risqué performance of his single “For Your Entertainment” at Sunday night’s American Music Awards, according to AP.

Lambert’s post-“Idol” debut shocked viewers with his crotch grabbing, dude kissing and face humping. You know, the usual.

But for the record, he’s not sorry about the sexually charged antics. “It’s a shame. Female entertainers have been risqué for years. Honestly, there’s a huge double standard,” Lambert told a Los Angeles Times blog about his racy moments being edited out of the West Coast broadcast.

“If it’s gonna be edited, then in a way that’s discrimination. I don’t mean to get political, but Madonna, Britney and Christina weren’t edited,” he said.

That’s true, Adam. But until you’ve been in the business for over 20 years, maybe you should lay off the on-stage make-out sessions. MARISSA GALLO, B

  1. But until you’ve been in the business for over 20 years, maybe you should lay off the on-stage make-out sessions

    ---snip---

People didn't complain that Adam was too new to be engaged in sexualized behavior...they complained because the object of his "affection" was not a woman. Most people don't know how to react when a woman isn't the "target" of sexual energy.

    !

  2. I was trying to say that perhaps a reason why the Madonna 3-way kiss wasn't edited out was because she's been around a long time and has done worse. at that point it was just "oh, madonna's being madonna." adam's first big performance and he goes all out.
but i definitely agree that a lot of the outrage was because the kiss was with another man.
also mtv allows a lot more on their award shows than abc.

  3. Well you do have a point - I just think some people (not you obviously) hide behind the "he's too outrageous/new/young" excuse when really what they mean is "he's too gay"...whatever that means.

I do think Lambert squandered an opportunity to really make an impact and change some minds. Instead he essentially performed all of the tired stereotypes that people LOVE to trot out when explaining why homos are heathens and hedonistic sinners etc.

Cash in quick Adam...the clock is ticking and you're on minute 14.

  4. maybe he just likes to make out with people whenever he has the chance.
first was that magazine photo spread when he was all up on some chick, now he's sticking his tongue down some poor guy's throat.

  5. ALSO, Lambert's "Good Morning, America" performance has been canceled.
    FYI, "GMA" runs on ABC

  6. I miss when music used to be about music and that's for everyone not just Adam Lambert. Enough with the Britney/Madonna kisses, Kanye interrupting speeches, Justin ripping of Janet's clothes, etc. Can someone please just write a good song and stop trying to distract us from how bad your music is.

  7. I second that
