It Came from the Internets: Used Mobile Home Commercial

In an era of effects-laden commercials, bloated with derivative comedy and convoluted meaning, I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for local ads. Whether it’s springing corner boys from jail in the name of Jesus Christ, or warning insurance companies not to urinate on you, there’s a blue collar poignancy to them. Blunt. Course. Hell, even stupid. But you rarely walk away wondering what product the spot was advertising, and more importantly, which brand paid for it.
That’s why I’ve been such a big fan of cult filmmakers Rhett and Link’s Microbilt commercial series. They travel around the country, producing low-budget/high-quirk spots for local businesses. And true to form, their latest local opus is brilliant.
Robert Lee sells mobile homes. Used ones. And that’s pretty much all you need to know:
Just what we need more of these days. Truth and transparency.
Perhaps a few of our local politicians could learn a little something from local advertising. Or not. I don’t care.

Robert Lee is my future ex-boyfriend. Loves it.
My favorite local commerical is the one for Nouveau - that furniture store that used to be on Charles, then it moved to Belvedere Square...and now I think it's in Canton.
The first line is what makes it magic:
"Nouveau, the french word for new!"
!

In my house, the Nouveau spot is a favorite for the exact same reason you said. My roommate says they use the default iMovie music in the spot, too. PRICELESS

Careful, JF. His wife's boyfriend has already shown he's not afraid to use a fencepost to defend himself.

I agree with you sawxfaninmd. But honestly I lived in Brooklyn for way to long, the crime is up, and I love how its nice and peaceful where I live at. Thats why I live in the Trailer Park. Eventually I will buy a house, I hope.
