Sports fans love to talk about sports — especially here in Baltimore — so we’d like to give our readers with sports-savvy an opportunity to rant and rave about what’s going on in the world of sports, both locally and nationally. Each weekday, we’ll pose a new question for you to discuss at the water cooler. Here’s your chance to be an armchair quarterback. Now speak up, play nice and let us know what you think.
Today’s topic at the water cooler:
Will Greg Mattison be able to get the Ravens ‘D’ back in form?

Greg Madison should be fired! It doesnt matter how bad the defense plays, he will be our coordinator because he is a family friend of the Harbaughs!

Well they certainly shouldn't fire him halfway through the season, because that wouldn't help at all. And I'm not so sure we can say right now that they need to let him go. Eight games is hardly a body of work to go by. We need to see some significant progress with the defense in the second half, though.

They say Mattison is best friends with Harbaughs father, and him and Jims family hang out on weekends. This already has a Billick/Fassel type feel to it.

Don't forget that when things weren't working out, Billick fired Fassel.

Matt, you should have done this question on Steve Haushka! I told you all he cant make clutch field goals when the game counts. I never thought my worst hated player would be a Raven! I hate Steve Haushka, he couldnt kick his way out of a wet paper bag! So how is he going to get us to the promise land(aka the Super Bowl)?

OK, Tim, for you, I'll ask it: "Will Steve Hauschka be able to get the Ravens ‘D’ back in form?"
My guess is that Hauschka can't do it (though he can probably cover as well as Frank Walker).

Lol! NO Steve Haushka wont be able to get the Ravens defense back in form! Haushka lacks speed and physical toughness(Im acting like he is a DB lol) he has been flagged for 12 pass interference calls this season, and he has already allowed 1,000 yards by opposing recievers! I heard a rumor Matt(just a rumor) that the Ravens may be crazy enought to convert him from a DB to Kicker, I wonder in the 4th quarter if he will be able to hit a clutch field goal?

One last note, yeah I agree, I bet Haushka could cover as good as Frank Walker, heck you probally could cover just as good Matt!

Let me say that running is not my strong suit.
And I've been beating up on Frank a lot, but maybe they should give him a chance to play and sit down another struggling corner, Chris Carr.

I agree! I am NOT a fan of Frank Walker(he walks instead of running) but yeah, I would say Chris Carr is the biggest disapointment. He has no cover skills, Ozzie dropped the ball signing him!
