Kind of blue: “Avatar” {thanks, 20th Century Fox}
1. ‘Avatar’
I really hope James Cameron hasn’t wasted away his career with this venture. I love geeky science fiction stuff and hope “Avatar” delivers. Who wouldn’t want their DNA combined with some alien species to create a nifty physical avatar to mix and mingle with the native folk? Jump into the experience Friday. TIM WONG, B
2. Gridiron Sing-Off
Ray Rice and Kelley Washington host the Gridiron Sing-Off Tuesday at Rams Head Live. Don’t miss your chance to see your favorite Ravens showcase their singing abilities during the event that raises money for charities of their choice. Tickets are $20 and the show starts at 7 p.m. ramsheadlive.com. BRIAN KRISTA, B
3. Kickin’ ‘Spectacular’
Last year, experiencing the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular Tour: The Rockettes” was a pleasant surprise. The high kicks were amazing, but the show also had great storytelling and visuals. And it put me in the holiday spirit. 1st Mariner Arena, 201 W. Baltimore St. 4 and 7 p.m. Thursday. $25-$99. ticketmaster.com ALISIA KRASTEL, B
4. Robin Thicke, Sex Therapy
Dear Robin Thicke, I have a bit of a crush on you. But that’s neither here nor there. I’m excited about your new album, Sexy Therapy. I really like what I’ve heard so far: “Meiple” (with Jay-Z!), “Sex Therapy” and “Shakin’ it for Daddy.” Can’t wait to hear the rest Tuesday. Give my best to Paula. Sincerely, AUBREY FORNWALT, B
5. Ravens v. Bears
DA BEARS! That’s just fun to say. Anyway, as the Ravens still try for a potential playoff berth, they can’t afford to slip up against Jay Cutler and … wait for it … wait for it … DA BEARS! 1 p.m. Sunday, WBFF-15 Fox and 98 Rock. MATT VENSEL, B
6. Stoop storytelling Extreme Holiday Show
Get in the holiday spirit with heart-warming — and horrifying — stories about the season. Definitely better than listening to your drunk uncle go on and on at the dinner table. Consider yourself lucky if you already snagged tickets for Monday night’s performance, because the show is sold out. Center Stage. stoopstorytelling.com. MARISSA GALLO, B
7. Animal Collective, Fall Be Kind
It’s a victory lap for indie rock’s IT band of 2009. Following up the critically acclaimed Merriweather Post Pavilion, the experimental group marries its emerging pop sensibilities with darker overtones on this five-song EP. “What Would I Want? Sky” could be their finest song yet. WESLEY CASE, B
8. Hampden’s Miracle on 34th Street
If you haven’t gone to this Christmas light smorgasboard, what exactly is wrong with you? We’re worried. Seriously, this is perhaps the one not-to-miss B-more tradition of the season. We’ll be waiting to see you there. christmastreet.com. JORDAN BARTEL, B
9. Sketchysantas.com
This blog is living proof why Santa shouldn’t always be trusted. And just because you have a beard doesn’t mean you should be the big guy. The poor children in these photos will need therapy for years. Merry Christmas! MARISSA GALLO, B
10. ‘Dirty Jobs’ season finale
Cows are messy. But a cow with a hole in its stomach? Yuck. We’re not sure exactly what the job is here, but Mike Rowe is all over it as he wraps up another messy season. Oh, and there’s fireworks! (That might explain the hole …) 9 p.m. Tuesday, Discovery. adam sapiro, b
