The increasingly bizarre celebreality world, “Celebrity Rehab” is a highway accident you can’t help but slow down to gawk at.

And Season 3 (premiering 10 p.m. Thursday, VH1) sounds like a serious crash. Ringleader/unabashed publicity hound Dr. Drew Pinsky has called this season “the most difficult.”

He may have a point, because the cast (which we have a hard time referring to them as, since they’re sick and in need of real help) is particularly more f’ed up than usual. A look at five of those seeking 21 days of help this year. JORDAN BARTEL, B

Mackenzie Phillips, actress
battles: 30-year drug addiction, supposed incest, a recent arrest for boarding a plane with heroin and cocaine.
Phillips has a 22-year-old son, which makes her stint even harder to watch. She has always made her battles public (kind of too public), so her inclusion here is no surprise. But for someone who has spent her life in and out of rehab, is a TV show the best place to finally make it work?

Dennis Rodman former athlete, tattoo aficionado
battles: Binge drinking, violent behavior
VH1 refers to Rodman’s 10-day marriage to Carmen Electra as “drunken,” which, sadly is an understatement. Reportedly, Rodman spends most of the stint in denial about his alcohol abuse.

Heidi Fleiss former Hollywood madam
battles: Uh, being a madam; previous jail stint for tax evasion; addiction to crystal meth.
It has been almost 13 years since Fleiss was convicted of running a prostitution ring. Now she lives alone in Nevada with dozens of parrots (which needs its own form of rehab) and owns a laundry business. What could be most provocative this year: Fleiss’ castmate is former alleged abuser/co-drug-user/ex-boyfriend Tom Sizemore.

battles: Lots. Reportedly heroin, crystal meth, marijuana and benzodiazepines (psychoactive drugs).
It’s really, really odd to see Fleiss and Sizemore doing this together. But if anyone needs help, it’s Sizemore (“Saving Private Ryan), one of Hollywood’s greatest casualties. He’s arguably the most f’ed up of this bunch.

Kari Ann Peniche, former Miss United States Teen USA
battles: Crystal meth, being extremely uncooperative.
VH1 regulars know Peniche from last year’s “Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew,” where her behavior was consistently erratic. Pinsky has said she was better this time. We’ll be the judge.
