The water cooler: Who’s next?

Sports fans love to talk about sports — especially here in Baltimore — so we’d like to give our readers with sports-savvy an opportunity to rant and rave about what’s going on in the world of sports, both locally and nationally. Each weekday, we’ll pose a new question for you to discuss at the water cooler. Here’s your chance to be an armchair quarterback. Now speak up, play nice and let us know what you think.

Today’s topic at the water cooler:
Which historically bad NFL team will win the Super Bowl next?

  1. I believe that the time is right for Detroit. Between their horrible economic situation, ridiculously high crime rate, and having high draft picks the last couple of years, the time is right for them. That city seriously needs something to boost their spirits in sports besides hockey and basketball.

  2. The Lions!?! Ballsy pick. I like it. They've got a good young foundation, but it will take a couple of years.

  3. Oh, I forgot that I played as them on this year's Madden. I think we won the Super Bowl in 2012, so maybe all that Mayan apocalypse talk would come true if the Lions won it all.

  4. The Bengals are the best of the historically bad teams right now unless you include the Vikings. They've never won a Super Bowl, but they haven't exactly been doormats.

If we're going outside of football, maybe the Cubbies or Caps?

  5. ...AND now another YAKNOWSTRADOMUS PREDICTION.... THEE CLEVELAND BROWNS....will be the next team bandwagon seekers latch on to. THE writing already on the wall with better competent managemant coming in next season, i predict THE BROWNS will be blue never more.
