Maryland’s Greivis Vasquez {thanks, AP}
Maryland’s Greivis Vasquez {thanks, AP}

1. ACC Tournament
(Thursday-Sunday on RAYCOM and ESPN): If you’re not hardcore enough to travel to Greensboro, N.C., to see if Gary Williams’ Terps can win their first ACC tourney since 2004, I guess you’ll have to tune in on TV. The downside: Duke players won’t be able to hear your boos. MATT VENSEL, B

2. ARTBus Tour
Six hours on a bus is rough, no matter your destination. But we make an exception for the annual Evergreen Museum and Library’s ARTBus, with artist/indie curator Jason Hughes leading an insidery look at the rising stars of Baltimore’s arts scene. Stops include AREA 405 and the H&H Arts Building, and feature artist and gallery owner meet-and-greets and chances to buy artwork. Originates Saturday from Evergreen (4545 N. Charles St., Charles Village) at 9:30 a.m., returns at 4 p.m. $80 (also includes box lunch, snacks and receptions). museums.jhu.edu or 410.516.0341. JORDAN BARTEL, B

10 spot: ‘Alice,’ the Oscars and much more

“Alice in Wonderland” {thanks, Disney}
“Alice in Wonderland” {thanks, Disney}

1. ‘Alice in Wonderland’
It’s pretty clear this is going to be one hell of a trip down the rabbit hole with Tim Burton’s refreshingly modern take on the childhood classic. My only complaint is that Johnny Depp bares a disgustingly close resemblance to Elijah Wood when decked out in all his Mad Hatter glory (shrug). Follow the white rabbit to a theater near you Friday. TIM WONG, B

2. The Oscars
It’s “Avatar” vs. “The Hurt Locker,” Sandra vs. Meryl, Mo’Nique vs. … well, no one because she’ll definitely win. As always, there are some shoo-ins at this year’s Academy Awards, but we’re still excited to see how hosts Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin handle the 10-best-picture-nominees madness. And, quick plug: Check out b’s Oscar preview on Friday. 8 p.m. Sunday, WMAR-12 ABC. JORDAN BARTEL, B

Baltimoreans may soon find a later last call for alcohol

You could soon have more time to drink at clubs and bars in Baltimore {Thanks, AP}
You could soon have more time to drink at clubs and bars in Baltimore {Thanks, AP}

Marques Houston sang and Joe Budden rapped about what it was like to be “up in da club.” For young Baltimoreans looking to enjoy themselves on the weekends in clubs, bars, lounges and other establishments downtown, there has been one resounding complaint — there’s never enough time to enjoy themselves. Now new legislation being considered in Annapolis may change all that.

handy work ‘American Craft Council Show’
BALTIMORE CONVENTION CENTER
A big reason we love this show (now in its 34th year) is that we in no way could ever glaze a bowl to perfection, knit a scarf anyone will love or design a necklace we’d actually feel good about giving someone.

So, yeah, we don’t attempt anything artistic. This is the chance to live through the craftiness of others.

More than 700 of the nation’s top crafters show off their goods during the four-day show.

Many Twitter users know about #TTTT, otherwise known as “Tell The Truth Tuesday.” It didn’t originate on Twitter but it’s now a staple of the social networking site. So here’s my question — and tell the truth — do you even know what this means?

@Jaleel_White writes: “@MichaelStrahan & @Nicole_Murphy R the most hyperbarically preserved Negroes I hav ever had the pleasure of partying with-Sumthin 2 aspire 2″

The Black Eyed Peas boom boom pow into the future {thanks, Dimitri Danloff}

1. Black Eyed Peas at Verizon Center
They got that boom boom pow, them chickens jackin’ their style. Oh, sorry. The song is just so catchy! Hear it live — and all those other great Black Eyed Peas songs you love! — at the Verizon Center Tuesday night at 7:30. Tickets start at $49.50. AUBREY FORNWALT, B

2. Olympic men’s ice hockey gold medal game
We won’t know who’s playing in this game until later in the week, but there’s a reason that it’s the final gold medal event of the 2010 Winter Olympics: This is the Games’ premier event. Don’t miss it. 3:15 p.m. Sunday, WBAL-21 NBC. MATT VENSEL, B

from russia with love ‘Playing Dead’
SINGLE CARROT THEATRE
There’s a little model U.N. action happening over at Single Carrot.

Working with Towson University and the Center for International Theatre Development’s New Directors-New Voices Project, leading Russian playwrights are setting up shop in Baltimore.

In the Presnyakov brothers’ acclaimed “Playing Dead,” a 30-something slacker makes his living by “playing dead” in not-always accurate police murder reconstructions.

That’s one sexy T-Rex smile {thanks, The Baltimore Sun}

While you frantically found chairs to reserve your parking spot, we kept up with what was happening in the world of celebs not slammed with snow. Here’s your pop culture week in review

Sexy dinos: Discovery’s “Tyrannosaurus Sex.” From the press release: “It shows dinosaur sex in all its glory. How did a ferocious T-Rex woo his lady? How did a female Titanosaur support the weight of a male who was as long as a four-story building is high?” Uh, maybe Jurassic yoga helped? Tune in 10 p.m. Sunday.

Let Nelly make it better {thanks, AP}

This week has pretty much sucked. And we mean the cold has almost sucked our soul out of our shivering body.

But b wants to help. We’ve compiled a sure-fire media playlist to lift your freezing spirits.

Get thee to iTunes, peruse your movie collection (if you don’t have the films and TV right now, we’ve included where you can find them. Hint: Has there been a better week to join Netflix?) and hunker down with the warm glowing warming glow of snowed-in entertainment. JORDAN BARTEL, B

The Situation will make u a drank this Thursday {thanks, MTV}
The Situation will make u a drank this Thursday {thanks, MTV}

1. The Situation at ‘Mad River’
Chill out, Freckles McGee. Yes, we’re also excited about “Jersey Shore” hardcore fist-pumper Mike guest-bartending at Mad River. But we fear too much glee/loose talk might get us excluded from surf and turf night — not to mention chicken cutlet and/or ravioli night. We’ll have to settle for silently checking out Mike’s grenade-handling abilities. Better reserve your place soon, because we hear it’s filling up fast. 9 p.m.-close Thursday. 1110 S. Charles St., Federal Hill. 410.727.2333 or madriverbaltimore.com. JORDAN BARTEL, B

2. 2010 Winter Olympics
NBC’s coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics begins Friday with opening ceremonies coverage starting at 7:30 p.m. Then you can expect more than 200 hours of coverage over the next two weeks. I won’t be sleeping much during that fortnight. For TV schedules on NBC’s family of networks, go to nbcolympics.com. BRIAN KRISTA, B
